Pity Sex – Demo (2011)

As I write this review it is cloudy and cold out. I only mention this because Ann Arbor, Michigan’s Pity Sex have a sound the is very reminiscent of  90’s midwest emo and the cold, dreary days that lead to summer.  Drawing very obvious influences from bands like Jejune, The Promise Ring and Mineral the vocals are slightly off-key and have a few group harmonies that are infectious and uplifting.  Apparently some of the guys in the band used to play in Dire Wolf, a metallic hardcore band (rad, I guess).

If you dig that old midwest sound then check these guys out and support new music. Thanks to Music As Heroin for the heads up on this.
