Long Island’s own Not So Broken, though a small-time band, is not one to be overlooked. With a talented drummer, unique guitars and a vocalist reminiscent of Paramore, these guys bring the fun as well as the emotion.

The songs, though short in length, are power-packed with spirit. “Again” has a cool sound coming at 2:00, one that I don’t hear a lot in many pop-punk bands, and then tops it off with a chugging breakdown into the end of the song. The big standout of this demo is “You Take My Pants, I’ll Take My [Insert funny word here]“, which has a No Doubt, Ska feel to parts. The vocalist doesn’t really change her sound much, but her voice is what makes your ears perk.

Rating: 2/5 Kegs. A little short, but for 3 songs, it’s a nice listen. Personally, I hate the genre, but these guys did a pretty good job and didn’t make me go running for something different. Riding the wave of Long Island’s pop-punk crazy, it wouldn’t surprise me to see these guys touring sometime soon.
