There is nothing like death in war, nothing like the flowery death
so precious to Him who gives life: far off I see it: my heart yearns for it!”
-Mexican War Hymn

The above quote comes from one of the stranger Black Twilight Circle releases this year from a band name Blue Hummingbird on the Left, (which is the translated name of the Aztec god of war Huitzilopochtli.) The “Bloodflower” ep is almost ten minutes of unadulterated old school Black Metal with hints of Thrash, old Bathory and super agro eighties punk.

With lyrics touching on Mexican nationalism (Viva la raza) and the war culture of Huitzilopochtli, this release is one that content wise stands out from he usual pagan influenced metal scene.  The 7″ should be available soon via Crepusculo Negro and if you can find this tape then definitely pick it up.
